It is important that we learn about the array of learning theories because people learn in different ways. This ensures quality education and sets all students up for success.Ā
When crafting a PowerPoint presentation, having the dual coding theory ensures that the presentation has elements that appeal to the eyes and ears. Individuals grasp information better if they can both, see and hear it. The eyes takes in an image whereas the ears absorb the narration. āIf we store similar info in both channels more likely to recollect itā (Mac Mahon, 2013).

The concept of flow theory is critical to multimedia learning because through its application, students receive a quality learning experience. Flow theory is the idea that an individual is deeply invested and engaged in what they are doing that they lose track of time. āIt is a state of hyper focus and complete engagementā (Spencer, 2017). Achieving a state of flow is done by: pursuing an intrinsically rewarding task, having clear goals and a sense of progress, receiving clear and immediate feedback, being challenged to match oneās skills and intense focus. If educators can help their students achieve a state of flow, the quality learning and work will increase.Ā
I have personally experienced a state of flow with my trainer in the gym. I have clear fitness goals to assist my soccer success and I am so invested that I could stay at the gym for hours. My trainer knows my limits but pushes me beyond because he believes I am capable. He is also there to support me if my form is lacking or if my effort is starting to slack as I reach a state of exhaustion.
