I have extensive experience with Canva and for the purpose of this blog post, I am excited to integrate my knowledge with the multimedia learning principles I have learned. As the operator of the UVic women’s soccer Instagram page, Canva is my main hub for creating infographics. Below, I have posted a few of my creations and I will link the Instagram page as well for you to see more of my work. In terms of the multimedia learning principles, I believe that the split-attention principle is relevant to my Canva creations. The split-attention principle is the idea that people learn better when words and pictures are physically and temporally integrated. This is true for the Instagram posts because I use a mix of bolded and captivating words and images to draw the attention of our followers. My tactic is that once I catch their attention by the intriguing post, they will read the caption of the post, which most likely explains important or key information.
